Day after April Fools (End of Month Recap)

Well, it been a while, other parts of life got in the way--namely the photography courses we're taking with the GI bill.  But, on the other hand, we have two new pieces of art that we're moving through our process to get ready for display and sale.

I'll definitely be posting just after the first of the month as iStock only displays totals, previous month, and month to date data.  And so far, there's no rhythm or reason to the viewing or download order.  In less than a day (http://www.istockphoto.com/stock-photo-36825952-heading-for-the-dalton-highway.php) a picture we took north of Fairbanks was downloaded.  And we have 90 others that haven't even been viewed.  Note: we're already thinking of our next trip to Fairbanks and getting a lot more of those photos.

In reading, it sounds like the average photo stock return is $.75 so we've set some targets which will take a couple of years to reach.  But we're having fun doing it.

Our color calibrator, Spyder 4 Elite, showed up and our 3 primary screens have been cal'ed.  The iMac had a single white point adjusted but the Thunder display and air book had large warming shifts required.  Those large adjustments weren't expected.

We had been warned it was a long (true) complicated process (false) process.  The hardest part was waiting 5 minutes while the software when through different color patches in the middle of the screen.  After that, it said here are the changes would like to accept them--task complete.

At our local CoOp we have only been selling a hand full of cards on a monthly basis but last month we actually sold 3 16x20 prints which almost paid for our rent there.  We have better hope for the summer or the 90 days of madness were Alaskans fish money off the annual run of tourists.

We tried several iPad/iphone apps for IR control of our D7000 cameras.  None worked and we're kicking that thought to wireless control on our next generation of cameras which is still several years away.

CoOp : 3 prints sold
